Allianz SE Revenue Up 10.4% in 2014
JAKARTA - Allianz SE posted a satisfactory performance throughout 2014. Based on the financial performance report published by the end of 2014, total revenues increased 10.4% to 122.25 billion euros compared to the previous year 110.77 billion euros.
Allianz Group also recorded an increase of 2 million customers, bringing the total number of clients currently more than 85 million customers worldwide. Meanwhile, operating profit increased 3.3% to 10.40 billion euros from the previous year amounted to 10.07 billion euros.
Michael Diekmann, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz SE, said the geopolitical conditions and ongoing market volatility, and the continued decline in interest rates in 2014 triggered a global economic growth lower than expected.
"Despite facing all these challenges, Allianz still achieve satisfactory results in terms of revenue, operating profit and net income," said Diekmann.
Not only globally, strong growth was also experienced by Allianz in the Asia Pacific region, which recorded a growth of 9%, with total revenues of 7.9 billion eur, o compared to the previous year to 7.2 billion euros. Operating profit increased 17% to 429 million euros from 367 million euros throughout 2013.
In the general insurance segment, Allianz SE posted an increase in gross premium income by 3.7% to 48.32 billion euros, compared to 46.58 billion euros in 2013. Operating profit recorded an increase of 2.2% to 5.38 billion, which driven by a better underwriting process while results remained stable investment. While the combined ratio remained unchanged at 94.3% figure. (*)
