JAKARTA (IFN) - Investors who are interested in natural resources in Central Kalimantan also sought to build processing and refining industry (smelter), said Minister of National Development Planning / Head of Bappenas Andrinof Zuhong.
Andrinof in Palangkaraya, Sunday evening, March 29, said that investors are not only targeting to export raw materials, such as coal or mineral industry of the province, but also built the "smelter".
In accordance with the agenda of national priorities, he said, the industry in Central Kalimantan, both the energy sector and other sectors, will be directed to a value-added industry.

Before developing downstream industries, Andrinof said that the government will prioritize infrastructure power plants in Central Kalimantan. The government wants new power plants with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts could begin construction in 2015.

He estimates that if 1,000 megawatt power plant can be built this year, in the next 3.5 years, or 2018, Kalteng may already have industrial areas.
