Manado (Reuters) - Chinese businessman will invest up to Rp35 trillion to develop special economic zones in Bitung, North Sulawesi province.
"With an investment of this magnitude will change the face of Bitung and North Sulawesi as the gateway to Indonesia in the Asia Pacific region more real," said Governor Sinyo H Sarundayang in Manado, on Tuesday.
The governor said, this investment cooperation is a follow-up visit of Indonesian economic delegation to China a few months ago.
Then, he added, will be followed by the signing of "Memorandum of Agreement" (MOA) in the event of "bilateral meeting" the Government of Indonesia to China on Thursday (27/3).
"I will mengonkritkan KEK collaboration with Chinese entrepreneurs within the next two days in the country. After the signing of the MoU in the past this time followed by the signing of the MoA," said the Governor.
Former Inspector General of the Department of Home Affairs, said the impact when Bitung serve as the gateway to Indonesia in the Asia-Pacific region is not only felt by the North Sulawesi province, but for economic growth and prosperity of Indonesia.
