KPK bantah pegawainya manfaatkan sisa kuota haji

JAKARTA, [IFN] ---  Head of Legal Department of the Corruption Eradication Commission Chatarina M Girsang denied charges filed by the lawyer of former Minister of Religious Affairs Suryadharma Ali, Johnson Panjaitan. Johnson said, there are six employees of the Commission are entered into the pilgrim pilgrim quota 2012/2013.

"It was never there. Even if there are employees of the Commission that list, it has been from long ago. So there is no formal link in the institution," said after the hearing pretrial Chatarina Suryadharma against the Commission in the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, March  31.

According to him, if indeed the Ministry of Religion offers to fill the quota of Haj pilgrims candidate, then there should be a formal offer received by KPK. However, he said, the Commission had never accept the offer.

"We'll see any evidence submitted. But to our knowledge, of employees KPK Hajj pilgrimage has been from long ago, even before the Commission has signed up," he said.

Previously, Johnson said, there are six employees of the Commission are entered into the list of the rest of the pilgrim pilgrim quota 2012/2013. In fact, on the other hand, the Commission is also investigating cases of alleged corruption in the process of organizing the pilgrimage during that period.

"There are six members of the Commission. So, how can the Commission mentions no persecution against the pilgrims, while the Commission also enjoy it," Johnson said at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (31/3).
