IFN, JAKARTA - Governor of Bank Indonesia Agus Martowardojo assess the market participants and the community to not have to worry about touching the exchange rate Rp13,000 per US dollar this week.
"If there is a weakening of the exchange rate, it is entirely because there are dynamics abroad but in general dollars in good condition," said Martowardojo said on Thursday.
Based on data exchange JISDOR BI on Thursday, the rupiah was at Rp 13.022 per US dollar, down from the previous day position Rp 12.963 per US dollar.
Agus said, the weakening of the exchange rate today is more often caused by external factors, than the sentiment of the country. Level of dollars today alone was seen still reflect the economic fundamentals of Indonesia.
"In general, the Indonesian economy well and do not need to worry about the dollars," said Agus.
According to Agus, the development of today's global economy itself is also already known in advance and has been anticipated by the monetary authorities.
Agus stressed, it will always be in the market to maintain the stability of the rupiah, and will not hesitate to intervene if necessary.
"We can not say the intervention, but you can see what has been done BI. BI will be in the market to keep the volatility of the rupiah," said Agus.
