Exports Up 73.4 Percent of Jewelry Products

Trends jewelery exports from Indonesia within the past year increased by 73.4 percent, with a value of 948.6 million US dollars.

"Hong Kong, People's Republic of China (PRC), one of the major markets of our jewelry. Within the last year, exports increased by 73.4 per cent of our jewelry with a value of 948.6 million dollars," said Director General of Export Development (PEN ) Ministry of Commerce Nus Nuzulia Isaac, in a press release received here on Wednesday.

Nus say, a value of 948.6 million US dollars is one of them triggered by the increase in demand for jewelry made of other precious metals by 2166.46 percent with a value of 323.3 million US dollars.

Jewelry made of other precious metals accounted for 39.48 percent of total exports to the world of jewelry Indonesia with a value of 1.83 billion US dollars. Indonesia's export trend jewelry experienced drastic growth of 70.12 percent in the last five years.

According Nus, jewelry has become a potential commodity Indonesia and it promotes jewelry products to participate in the exhibition "Hong Kong International Jewellery Fair 2015" which was held on 4 to 8 March 2015 in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), Hong Kong, China.
