JAKARTA - In addition to expecting funds from the state budget, political parties should be encouraged to maximize the contributions of its members, said the coordinator of Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), Ade Irawan.
"During this time of political party membership fees are not maximal. Just came from cadres who became head of the region or legislators. Supposedly, the other members are also drawn dues," he said when contacted in Jakarta, Thursday (03/12/2015). Ade said that, during this time of political party funding comes from three sources, namely membership fees, subsidies from the state, and third-party contributions.

Until now, the political parties are still reluctant to open to the public, especially regarding finances to be audited.
Ade admitted, the state budget allocated to political parties, it needs to be raised. However, he considered, the budget per year for each party, do not need to Rp1 trillion, as a discourse by the Minister of the Interior, Tjahjo Kumolo.
"With the condition of the party's performance and member of Parliament who is not satisfactory, it is not appropriate if the increment amount. Moreover, the government is currently being aggressively cut subsidies to the people," he said.
Ade explained that political party has received funds from the state budget which is adjusted by a vote in the elections to the value of Rp108 per voice. According to him, the value is too small for the purposes of political parties. According to him, ideally political parties to get the budget from the state budget of Rp 1,000 for each vote obtained in the election. Condition, political parties must improve governance and budget planning and open to the public.
Previous Interior Minister Tjahjo Kumolo rolling discourse to any political party financing Rp1 trillion from the state budget to increase transparency and democracy. Ministers hope the discourse that has the support of Parliament and the public pro-democracy elements.
"It is necessary for political parties is a means of recruitment of national leadership in a democratic country. However, the control requirements of the party must be rigorous and transparent," he said.
