BANDA ACEH - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Muljono Basuki Hadi said the government continues to boost infrastructure development in Aceh to promote the progress of the area.
"The priority infrastructure development in Aceh includes roads, water and housing-related infrastructure," he said when met in Banda Aceh on Sunday night.
He said the budget allocation for infrastructure development in Aceh is quite large.
Basuki said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will inaugurate the beginning of the construction of reservoirs located in Jalan Bahagia Pante District of Paya Bakong, North Aceh.
"This reservoir water will be able to accommodate up to 16 million cubic meters with a total investment of Rp1.7 trillion," he said.
According to him, the reservoir was also able to generate electrical energy power of 6.4 MW.
"Not so great but it would be useful for irrigation and flood control," he said.
Aceh Governor Zaini Abdullah said the people of Aceh expects to accelerate infrastructure development.
"During this development in Aceh are very slow so need to accelerate the construction of roads, reservoirs, dams, and printing of agricultural land," he said.
According to him, the needs of the people of Aceh in accordance with the vision and mission of the President Jokowi.
"We also expect the entry of investors to develop a specific area of Sabang," he said.
During a visit to Aceh, President Jokowi scheduled to visit the PT Arun at Lhokseumawe associated with regasification projects in the former refinery PT Arun.
The President is also scheduled to perform groundbreaking Rp1.7 trillion reservoirs located in Jalan Bahagia Pante District of Paya Bakong, North Aceh.
On Tuesday (10/3) is scheduled to review the progress of the construction Jokowi President Reservoir Paya and reviewing Seunara in Sabang Sabang Area Port Concession Agency (BPKS) in Sabang Bay.
Furthermore, the President is scheduled to the Kilometer Zero Jokowi Sabang to launch the 70th anniversary logo Indonesia Merdeka.
