JAKARTA -- The phenomenon of an increase in the movement of extremism, radicalism, and terrorism in the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is not only threaten the security of the local area, but also other regions, including ASEAN.
Indonesia has formally rejected the existence in Indonesia understand and categorize ISIS ISIS as a terrorist group. Therefore, Indonesia invites all ASEAN member states to combat the influx of radicalism and extremism in the region through prevention, exchange of information, and support outreach programs to enhance public awareness about the dangers of ideologies.

ADMM 9th Meeting was held from March 15 through March 17, 2015 in Langkawi, Malaysia themed "ASEAN: Maintaining Regional Security and Stability for and by the People".
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Defense and delegates all Member States of ASEAN and ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh and representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat. Acting as Chairman is the Minister of Defence of Malaysia, Dato 'Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, who served as Chairman of ADMM 2015. The purpose of meeting is to discuss, coordinate, and make decisions and validate various initiatives defense and security cooperation in ASEAN.
In the Exchange of Views on Regional and International Security and Defense Issues, besides discussed regarding extremism, radicalism, and terrorism, also discussed Issues of Non-Traditional Security, among others; cyber crime, piracy at sea, human trafficking, infectious diseases, drug trafficking, natural disasters, global warming, and various other forms of transnational crime. Indonesia categorize issues of non-traditional security is a real threat faced by all member states. Therefore, the spirit of ASEAN cooperation needs to be strengthened in order to cope with the numerous security threats. Meanwhile, the real threats to Indonesia is a war between states that the potential is small in ASEAN.
In the case of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), the military's role is still considered important to reduce the adverse effects of disasters and save more lives. Regarding this issue, Indonesia specifically convey the role and contribution to the improvement of regional resilience in HADR, through joint operations and exercises. Indonesia also underlined the importance of strengthening military cooperation of countries in the region in implementing joint HADR operations and optimizing the role of the ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance Center (AHA Center) as the only control center HADR in the ASEAN region.
Regarding the South China Sea issue, the forum emphasized the importance of freedom of shipping and aviation in the LTS; invite the parties to the dispute in the LTS for restraint, avoiding the use of violence, as well as solve problems and disputes peacefully in accordance with the principles of international law. In addition, the meeting also support the full implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of the Parties in the South China Sea (DOC) and the completion of the Code of Conduct of the Parties in the South China Sea (COC) between ASEAN and China for the sake of stability in the region LTS .
Regarding the issue of the Korean Peninsula, Indonesia called for completion of tension through diplomatic channels, taking steps peaceful, and obey UN resolutions.
In this meeting, the Minister of Defence Ryamizard Ryacudu Defense Minister invited all ASEAN countries to attend the annual dialogue forums Jakarta International Defence Dialogue (JIDD) 2015 will be held in August. On the sidelines of the 9th Meeting of the Minister of Defence took this ADMM held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Defense Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, and Brunei Darussalam.
