JAKARTA -- Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) identified 19 serious interest in Japanese investors worth 8.9 billion US dollars throughout October 2014 until March 12, 2015.
"Through a representative office in Tokyo and BKPM marketing officer for the region, we have established intensive communication with Japanese investors and identified 19 serious enough investors who planned to invest in Indonesia," said Head of BKPM Franky Sibarani through a press release on Sunday.
Based on government data, 19 investors who indicated expressed serious interest to invest in Indonesia the two companies in the automotive field, including industrial components, with an investment of 600 million dollars, three chemical industry company with an investment of 295.35 million US dollars, the two companies food industry worth 15 million dollars and two companies in agriculture and processing industry worth 41.86 million US dollars.
Then, the shipbuilding industry investment worth 40 million dollars, amusement parks worth 434.78 million US dollars, industrial areas and other infrastructure as well as oil and gas industry worth 7.5 billion US dollars.
According to him, some companies are scheduled to meet with President Joko Widodo during a visit to Japan on 23-25 March in the event the investor forum.
BKPM itself, recognized Franky, will conduct intensive meetings with investors through the forum "consultation meeting".
"The meeting with the President, either one on one meeting or event investor forums, we expect them to be able to realize its interests through the application for permit investment," he said.
