President Jokowi: Rupiah Weakens Positive Impact for Export Furniture '

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said the weakening rupiah will automatically give a positive impact on Indonesia's furniture exports.

Statement by the President delivered during the opening of "International Furniture and Craft Fair Indonesia" (IFFINA) 2015 Eco Green East Park, East Parking Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, March   14, 2015.

"If automatic exports will rise, but the necessary adjustment time," the president said. Although profitable export, president hopes rupiah weakened continuously.

"But, however we want (US dollar against the rupiah) does not go up," he said. The President who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Indonesian Furniture (Asmindo) assess kemesan IFFINA 2015 is pretty good and innovative products on display is also pretty good.

"Great exhibition, the designs (furniture) nice, there is innovation in the design, the colors are also very good, (the exhibition) is better," said the president.

While Chairman of Asmindo M Taufik Gani said in organizing IFFINA 2015 followed by 500 participants, and 80 perse them are SMEs (Small and Medium).

"So we need the help of the relevant ministries, so that the participants even more," please Taufik. He also hoped present 5,000 buyers from 100 countries in 2015 IFFINA.

"The target of the current account during the exhibition is expected to reach 600 million US dollars, an increase of the target in 2014 worth 400 million dollars and realization reached 500 dollars more," said Taufik.

He said Indonesian furniture favored foreign buyers because it is relatively inexpensive and also the quality of construction, models, comfort and unique. Predicted, there was an increasing trend towards natural rattan furniture.
