PT KAI launched automatic ticket vending machines

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) continue to improve the service to the consumer. Most recently, KAI launched automatic ticket vending machines or "vending machine". This machine is intended to facilitate rail users in buying tickets.

Provision of such machines is a cooperation with PT Finnet Indonesia, one aviliasi company PT Telkom and Bank Indonesia.



"The new facility in the form of 'vending machine' purchase train tickets (electronic kiosk / e-kiosk) which will allow passengers to buy train tickets, without having to queue at the counter," said President Director of PT KAI Edi Sukmoro in "soft launch" Automatic ticket vending machines at Pasar Senen Station, Jakarta, Friday (13/3).

For the first phase, two units of "e-kiosk" is provided at Pasar Senen Station. KAI future will provide the same facilities in all major stations in Java and Sumatra.

Edi explained by "e-kiosk", the passenger simply choose the dates, the station of origin, destination station and the number of passengers and enter data such as name, ID number and telephone number of passengers who will leave.

He added that the input data can be done via the touch screen or the "keyboard" that physically exist on the machine "e-kiosk".

"Prospective passengers can also select the position of the seat on the train when purchasing tickets through the machine 'e-kiosk'," he said.

Edi said railway ticket booking or purchase through "e-kiosk" can do "H-90" or on the day of departure (go show), one hour before the train departure.

"After entering this data, passengers can directly perform payment transactions through this machine," he said.

He describes the method of payment that can be accepted, among others, cash payments using money on Rp 2,000 to Rp 100,000, payment by debit card network Alto, and payment by T-Money card from Telkom.

"For the passengers who make a cash payment without exact change, the method returns via electronic money (e-money) from Finnet Indonesia," he said.

He said passengers who registered will automatically have an account on www.delimapoint.com, one of the "one stop online payment" Finnet owned by cell phone number as your user name or "username".

Funds stored on the account, he said, can be transferred to a bank account to be cashed or can also be used to make payments of electricity, home phone, cable TV subscription, purchase mobile phone credit or train tickets through the site delimapoint.com.

"After ordering and payment process is completed, the machine 'e-kiosk' will issue a receipt of proof of payment. The receipt will include code railway ticket booking or payment which will be used to print the ticket," he added.

Passengers can print the ticket printing facility independent ticket (CTM) are available at the station.
