JAKARTA, [IFN] --- Sinar Mas through several pillars businesses signed a loan agreement totaling US $ 1.5 billion, or about Rp19,50 trillion from China Development Bank (CDB) and ICBC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd.
Managing Director of Sinar Mas, G. Sulistiyanto in a written statement on Friday (27/3) said the deal allows the company under the auspices of the Sinar Mas to power generators to supply the energy needs, the development of pulp and paper in Indonesia and the development of the telecommunications industry .
"The sustainability of our partnership with financial institutions abroad describe their confidence as well as the development of national industry reputation is maintained," he said.
The PT Dian Swastika Sentosa Tbk (DSS) signed a loan agreement worth US $ 510 million from China Development Bank Corporation (CDB) for the development of power plants in South Sumatra and South Sulawesi.
The loan reaches 75% of the total loan which reached US $ 680 million.
The funds will be allocated for the construction of the mine mouth power plant Sumsel-5 Banyuasin 1x300 MW capacity worth US $ 480 million and Kendari-3 power plant, with a capacity of 2x50 MW of 200 million US dollars.
Earlier on December 4, 2012 in Jakarta, PT DSSP Power Sumsel (DSSP) has signed an agreement first loan of US $ 318 million also from CDB.
The funds were used for the construction of a mine-mouth power plant with a capacity of 2x150 MW in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra.
Development of paper pulp for companies under Sinar Mas also get a loan worth US $ 350 million and 2.1 M RMB or approximately equivalent to US $ 700 million.
In the field of telecommunications, since 2006 Sinar Mas has been cooperating with China Development Bank for the construction, installation and telecommunications industries LTE network Sinar Mas through Smartfren.
Help loan signed in Beijing today to reach US $ 300 million. Previously, Smartfren already signed a loan of US $ 700 million.
