JAKARTA -- PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) or Telkom, the state-owned telecommunications company, still recorded a positive performance over the past year, the company had a net profit of Rp 14.64 trillion, the number grew 3% when compared with the previous year amounting to Rp 14 , 21 trillion.
Quoted from Telkom's financial statements, the achievement of the company's net profit was supported by sales growth. In 2014, the company earned revenues of Rp 89.70 trillion, up 8% compared with 2013 revenues amounting to Rp 82.97 trillion.
The company's financial performance was also driven by the shrinking of foreign exchange losses. In 2013 the company recorded a foreign exchange loss of Rp 249 billion, while last year the exchange rate losses of Rp 14 billion or shrink 94% year-on-year (yoy)
