"Sugar was kind there are two white sugar and raw sugar. Which was imported raw sugar or refined sugar. So the news written media only import 1.5 million tons of sugar, it's a big mistake," he said. It was announced while attending the Regional Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbangwil) ex Surakarta, at the Home Office Karanganyar Regent Hall, Tuesday (31/3).

Amran hope, the sugar growers in Indonesia, not to worry, because the government still protects sugar growers. He pointed out, it never refused a request of two businessmen who asks to raise the yield of the refined sugar for white sugar used.

"There may yield increased from raw sugar, because sugar is still enough for the needs in the warehouse. Inshallah in the fifth month of the year, will enter the harvest season," he said.

In response to the certainty of the central government will import sugar, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo SH MIP, said he could not intervene because the national sugar needs today is still lacking. But he asked the terms, so that the import of sugar is only done, if the government already spends sugar from farmers.

"Imports please but first spend sugar cane from farmers so that they do not suffer a loss," he said briefly. (Credits)
