PALU, (IFN) - TNI Commander General Moeldoko appealed Santoso, the terrorist leader in Poso, Central Sulawesi, to surrender to the security forces.
"When there are two risks TNI meet, dead or he surrendered," said Moeldoko in Palu, on Monday, shortly before flying to Poso to open a joint military war games.
Santoso is the leader of a terrorist group that allegedly conducted a series of cases of violence in Poso district and some areas in the province of Central Sulawesi.
Currently there are exercises Rapid Reaction Strike Force (PPRC) in Poso committed Division II Army Strategic Command reinforced some elements of the Army and Navy which totaled about 3,200 personnel.
He said, currently in Poso are a small group of civilians and armed and should not be allowed. The group in question is 20 people who are currently hiding in the jungle and often spread terror to the authorities and the public.
"The group should not be allowed. If left unchecked, the other radical groups could feel comfortable in Poso and grow big," he said.
He said, if the group leader Santoso left the radical groups in Syria and the Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS) could one day join them.
"I reiterate, there is no place for ISIS in Indonesia, including in Poso," said four-star general.
He also reiterated military exercise in Poso is an annual exercise that location could be anywhere. "But if we meet Santoso and do not want to give up, so I shot," he said.
