Wall Street drove, Nasdaq surpasses 5,000

NEW YORK -- The majority of shares traded on US exchanges closed positive on the transaction last night (20/3). That caused the Nasdaq Composite to fly above 5,000 level for the first time in 15 years.

Citing data from Bloomberg, at 16:00 pm in New York, the S & P 500 rose 1% to 2109.53. While the Nasdaq rose 0.9% to 5034.87. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.1% to 18156.55.

The movement also influence the number of shares of US exchanges. Some of them namely 4.6% shares of Nike Inc., Biogen Idec Inc. rose 2.3%, and Tiffany & Co. fell after predicting the movement of currency fluctuations led to a decline in their income.

"Yesterday is consolidation wider than the increase on Wednesday. Now we see if we can ride back and rallied to its highest level. One considerable weight on this day is the rebalance on the S & P 500, causing the market run wild," explains Matt Maley, equity strategist at Miller Tabak & Co. LLC in Newton, Massachusetts.

Yesterday evening, the number of shares traded reached US $ 15.9 billion.
