ZTE Corporation (ZTE) announced that ZTE and Telkom Indonesia will build the Joint Innovation Center that focuses on technology development of Internet Protocol-based (IP-based) video. The MOU was signed on March 2, 2015, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona took place.
The Joint Innovation Center will combine the capabilities of ZTE in IPTV and OTT solutions at international level with the commitment Telkom Indonesia, Indonesia's largest telecommunications companies, in providing the best service to the people of Indonesia. The research center will focus on IPTV and OTT technology research, build collaboration with other technology providers, and develop new services. This project reinforces the strategic partnership between ZTE with Telkom.
Previously, ZTE has also been awarded a contract for the largest IPTV network Telkom Indonesia, under the brand UseeTV Cable. In this partnership, ZTE supports Telkom Indonesia in terms of construction, operation, and maintenance of network IPTV low bit rate (low-bit-rate) since the year 2013 to 2016. ZTE provide IPTV system equipment, including high definition (HD), standard definition (SD); and the low bit rate (low bit rate) and the Set Top Box (STB). ZTE also provide their services, such as the operation, maintenance, and hosting services equipment as well as providing end-to-end network optimization.
As well as a provider of IPTV equipment vendor / OTT of end-to-end IPTV and OTT world-leading, IP-based video systems ZTE has served 26 million active users in more than 60 point spread throughout the world. In a third-party research report IDC and Ovum, product IPTV / OTT's ZTE was ranked first in the Chinese market. In addition, STB, middleware, and VOD ZTE ranked first in the world based on research conducted by Multimedia Research Group (MRG)
