JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia kept its benchmark interest rate (BI Rate) of 7.50 percent due to several reasons, including external and domestic risk aversion.
After conducting the Board of Governors or RDG Bank Indonesia on the BI Rate in Jakarta, Tuesday (14/4), Deputy Communications BI, BI rate Tirta Segara explain unchanged as before, namely 7.50 percent.
BI Rate is set in the second week of each bulan.Ia said the decision was in line with efforts targeted BI among inflation in 2015 about 4.5 percent.
"The decision is in line with efforts to achieve the inflation target in 2015 and 2016 as well as directing the current account deficit to the level of the sound in the range of 2.5 percent to three percent of GDP in the medium term," said Tirta Segara.
"Bank Indonesia will be aware of the risk of external and domestic and consistently reinforce monetary and macroprudential policy mix including strengthening the stabilization measures the exchange rate in order to maintain macroeconomic stability and financial system, and coordination with the government also continues to be strengthened," he said.
Tirta Segara add BI also aware of the impact that would occur on the Indonesian economy due to the global economic turmoil.

According to BI optimtis Tirta Segara although the national economy will improve this year, economic growth remains at risk.
