Foreign Minister welcomed the arrival of 110 citizens from Yemen



JAKARTA, IFN --  Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi welcomed the arrival of 110 citizens of Indonesia (citizen) who had been evacuated from Yemen at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, on Sunday afternoon.

A total of 110 citizen, according to a press release the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received in  Jakarta, is the first group that arrived in Indonesia from 262 citizens who managed to get out of Yemen to Jizan, Saudi Arabia a few days ago.

Citizen rest will be picked up by an Air Force plane in Jizan to be flown to Oman region and then to Indonesia by commercial aircraft.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the security situation in Yemen, particularly in the western part of Yemen in the vicinity of Aden and Sana'a has become increasingly serious. Armed clashes between warring parties increasingly widespread.

Earlier, on Saturday (4/4) Acceleration Team evacuation of citizens who departed from Jakarta on Thursday managed to get into town Tareem through Yemen-Oman border. Evacuation team was coordinated with the citizen who is in Tareem, Al Mukalla and other cities in the Hadhramaut region to prepare for evacuation.

The remaining 202 Indonesians are now evacuated to a safer area, namely in Jizan, Saudi Arabia and Djibouti.

Until now there are a number of citizens who are in various shelters (safe house) and wait for evacuation, ie 89 people in Aden, 14 people in Sana'a, 40 people in Al Mukalla, and 58 people in Tareem.

As reported, the Indonesian government has sent a unified team to Yemen and Salalah, Oman to conduct intensive evacuation of citizens, including by deploying an Air Force aircraft and one Boeing 737-400 leased ships from Djibouti.

Evacuation team sent the Government of Indonesia consists of 43 personnel, including 14 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 21 Air Force, Police seven, and three people from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

The team is constantly looking for ways to be able to evacuate all citizens in Yemen quickly, safely and efficiently.
