BANDA ACEH, INDONESIA --- Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Research and Higher Education) M Nasir stated there are 32 thousand lecturers in the country that has not minimum standards.
"The average lecturer educated to degree level, which should have a minimum education as a lecturer S2" he said after giving a public lecture at the State Islamic University (UIN) Ar-Raniry, Darussalam, Banda Aceh on Sunday.
He explained that 32 thousand lecturers who have the minimum standards of private universities spread throughout Indonesia.
"We will continue to work to improve the ability of the lecturer is one of the scholarship program," he said.
He said the professional standards of the faculty will also be adjusted with the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI). "Indeed, the entire faculty aturanya targeted to be completed in 2015," he said.
However, it will review the time and the possibility of the entire faculty targets will be a minimum standard to be achieved by 2017.
During his visit to Aceh, the Minister of Research and Higher Education also launched 12 public courses opened in UIN Ar-Raniry, Darussalam, Banda Aceh.
He added, sometimes there are lecturers who do not take care of the level of education that is still struggling to graduate.
